Meet Us
Years ago, a local pioneer of the Amazon region founded the Misahualli lodge. Misahualli Jungle Lodge was built on an unspoiled, and slightly overgrown, 145-hectare plot of Ecuador's primary rainforest.
This plot of land resembles a dreamlike island, surrounded by the Napo River and the Misahualli River.
Close to Misahuall Jungle Lodge, there lives the small community of Puerto Misahualli. It was there that, hundreds of years ago, the Spaniard started their expeditions to explore the mysterious Amazon rainforest of Ecuador by canoe.
Puerto Misahualli is situated at 450m (1476 ft.) above sea level and is just a five-hour drive away from Quito the capital of Ecuador.
The temperature at Misahualli Jungle Lodge fluctuates between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius (75.2 – 86 degrees Fahrenheit). The climate at Ecuador's Amazon is tropical, very humid and rainy.
Ecuador's primary rainforest has already seen more than 650 summers. Thanks to its humidity, there are a lot of medical plants, orchids, bromeliads, heliconias, plants of paradise, and much more. Some of these plants are of great importance to the reproduction of butterflies. The trees in Ecuador's rainforest, and ceibos, are more than 600 years old. The Amazon's fauna consists of various simian and prosimian species of monkeys, such as squirrel monkeys, as well as birds like long-eared owls, barn owls, ocelots, guatusas, and many more.
Spend an unforgettable holiday at Misahualli Lodge. At Misahualli Jungle Lodge you will be making excursions during the day, enjoying a romantic sunset, and finally resting in one of Misahualli's comfortable rooms. Being sung into sleep by the humming and chirping background music performed by the insects and animals of the rainforest, your experience at Misahualli Jungle Lodge will be very relaxing and very enjoyable.
